Guided Mountaineering Trips on Mt Shasta

Mount Shasta, California (14,179 feet)

Mount Shasta is California’s largest volcano at 14,179 feet and is the second tallest peak in the Cascade Range after Mt Rainier.  Shasta sits 200 miles north of the Lake Tahoe Basin and approximately 60 miles south of the Oregon border, and there is no other mountain like it in California. Mt Shasta’s south side routes offer the perfect introduction to mountaineering on big mountains. The north side routes are heavily glaciated and offer more advanced and steep climbing. The nearest regional airports with commercial air transport services are 60 miles south of Mt Shasta City in Redding, California at the Redding Regional Airport and 90 miles to the north in Medford, Oregon at the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport.

Every trip you book with Shasta Mountaineering School is personally guided by the owner, Shane Rathbun.
